Located on a wide, golden sandy beach, voted amongst the "Top ten beaches in Europe" by the UK's Independent newspaper, Mylopotas has safe, flat swimming waters, fantastic restaurants and hotels. The perfect spot for a watersports base.
The Meltemi Watersports centre is at the far end of Mylopotas beach, opposite FAR OUT CLUB. Look out for the MELTEMI WATERSPORTS sign above the shack.
Our other two centres are on the picturesque beaches of Manganari at the southern end of the island - great to either visit for the day, or to stay and hide away!
Whether you are a beginner or expert, our friendly and professional instructors, are always on hand to offer first-class, personal service. We provide a wide range of watersports for groups, individuals and the whole family.

PETER BRAMWELL
Meltemi watersports was established by British-born windsurfing fanatic; Peter Bramwell in 1979.
Married to Anneli, Peter spends his summers windsurfing in Ios and winters snowboarding and running the Meltemi winter retreat and The wigwam cafe in the stunning resort of Are, Sweden. Most of the time when he's hitting the waves or snow, his sons, Blayze and Cody are not too far behind (or in front!)
JOE RYAN
A partner in Meltemi Watersports, Joe has been hanging out on Mylopotas beach since he was a nipper. Joe is a fantastic windsurfer and his dancing is in a class of it's own too!
CHELSEA RYAN
Joe's wife, Chelsea, runs the watersports reception. She generally ensures that everything is running smoothly, and is always around to very capably help with anything that anyone needs.
BLAYZE BRAMWELL
Blayze is an internationally sponsored snowboarder and skier champion since the age of twelve and there is little in the way of sport - or negotiating Ios nightlife - that he is not an expert at. When not driving working on the beach and driving ski boats in Ios, he's back home in Sweden, snowboarding, sponsored by Forum Snowboards, Grenade Gloves, Dragon Goggles, Fourquare and Neff Neff clothing and is one of the most prolific snowboarders in Scandinavia.
CODY BRAMWELL
Cody, 15 and beach chief, has worked at the shack since he was three and is normally found perfecting his back-flips on the sand. Back in Sweden, he's sponsored by Rip Curl, and Kombie Gloves for skiing, he's an awesome snowboarder, wakeboarder, windsurfer, skateboarder and wakesurfer... you name it, he's probably mastering it!
LINA M MYHRBERG
Between Chelsea and Lina they own the Meltemi reception.Lina moved to Ios when she was 4 years old. Between Swedish, English and Greek languages skills as well as Chelseas amazing Italian accent they have it all covered.
ANDY PECK
Andy is the Marketing Director for Meltemi Watersports and has been on and off the island since 1993, in amongst managing trade marketing for Red Bull UK, running a publishing business and various extensive world travels.
BEN MAYER
Ben is usually found commanding the Mastercraft and following time spent in the British Army, has now settled effortlessly into the beach life scene. He will also be working with Peter in Are in the winter.
LUKE ALMOND
Luke has put the world of Commercial property acquisitions on hold. He expertly manages the kayak safaris and is the perfect host. A smooth-mover extraordinaire, and if he gets you on the dance floor, there is no going back!
DUTCHIE
The Meltemi resident photographer and usually instigator of creative prop finding on a staff night out.

We have full comprehensive insurance All our drivers/instructors are BWSF (British Water Ski Federation) qualified. At each of our stations we have trained senior first aiders. Meltemi Watersports complies with all European Health and Safety regulations.
