A couple of the more relaxed options first... then taking it up a gear...
Contemplate that last wakesurf whilst sipping a cold one at the Far Out village, looking out past the pool, shack, ocean, and towards Sikinos as the sun drifts away...
Harmony is at the other end of the beach. Another Ios institution, Harmony has hammocks, a big 'welcome home' sign outside (perfectly apt), friendly staff, awesome Mexican food, big comfy sofas and fabulous live guitar music each night.
It may be hard to drag yourself away from either of these (and certainly worthy of a night out in themselves), but next on the trail, is the Fun Pub, on the main road into the village, and Mick and his team have it all laid on in terms of entertainment...
You can take part in the pub quiz, watch a movie, watch the match, sing your heart out in the nightly karaoke, win the killer pool competition or giant jenga sessions, or just eat some great value and filling, wholesome pub grub. The Fun Pub will make you feel at home any day of the week.
Stoking things up a gear, head up into the village, and to the square... a chameleon of activity and at the heart of where all the late night action takes place. Grab a table and a cold beer. It's a fabulous spot to watch the world go by.
Early evening, and until almost midnight, you could be forgiven for thinking that you'd hit a different island... the square - and most of Ios - is sedate, full of families, and elderly locals, mulling over Frappes, chatting with friends, even until towards midnight in peak season, without a party reveller in sight.
And then they come! From the bus, from the beach, from their hotels and hostels... the young and beautiful, primed for a big night out and the infectious and legendary Ios bar crawl that'll pick you up and drag you along, screaming for more!
A Flaming Lamborghini is guaranteed to kick start things with vengeance at the constant party that is Flames bar.
We should also mention Orange Bar. It boasts hundreds of ingenious shots to choose from, and is a great spot for a cheeky post-dinner livener.
The stylish and cool crowd usually head for the funky tunes and vibe at Barmacy and Astra.
Talking of Vibe, Vibe is a fantastic, friendly little hip-hop bar, as is Coo, playing some great Hip Hop and R'n'B too.
Just when you think it cannot peak even more, there's still a notch to take it up again... and it's time to really get your dancing feet on...
Rehab will get you bouncing along to plenty of classic dance tunes.
Planet Ios is another late night dance club... and certainly competing for one of the most stylish clubs in Ios... a cool, open-air venue, a great place to sip a cocktail and watch the night unfold and if you're not careful, the sun come up!
